As a substantive step to further expand the scope of our offering and
appeal to an even broader segment of the property management and real estate industries,
Spectra has enhanced their 32 bit, 4th G/L SPECTRA for Windows® software by releasing the
long anticipated Construction Job Costing Module.
Spectra’s Construction Job Costing Module is fully integrated to the Accounting Module and
can function as an independent, stand-alone application or can share the same robust
database as the Property Management Module. The Construction Job Costing Module can be
used to efficiently manage almost any type of construction project, from a basic tenant
improvement to the complex challenges of constructing an entire building.
The impetus for the Construction Job Costing Module project stemmed from Spectra’s acquisition of
Los Angeles based Execudata Inc. in October of 2001. Subsequent to the acquisition,
Spectra developed a data conversion utility allowing the former Execudata clients to
smoothly transition from Execudata’s DOS based Horizon/2 property management software
to SPECTRA for Windows®. As Execudata also had numerous real estate developers using
the robust job cost functionality inherent in their Horizon/2 software, the redesign
of the new module was derived from its core functionality. As a result of consultations
with Execudata’s development and support teams, as well as input from numerous Execudata
customers, Spectra’s Construction Job Costing Module not only replicates the functionality
of the Horizon/2 product, but adds several key enhancements.
